Lufft Intern – Johannes Hoffmann, Sales Rep

The beginning of the year 1985 was also the start point of my “Lufft life“. As a sales representative, I have been responsible for selling industrial measuring instruments and systems to OEM customers. I discovered the company in a local newspaper within a job offer. Lufft was looking for sales representatives as contact for opticians and laboratory dealers.

This was 30 years ago and soon I will retire. But I still remember these days as if they were yesterday.

What has made me stay at Lufft was the combination of innovative products, satisfied customers, nice colleagues and interesting as well as diversified projects. A lot of projects took place at pharmaceutical companies, such as RP Scherer, Merck, Takeda, Ursapharm, Schwabe, Madaus, Biotest and Procter&Gamble.

In the course of the time, I met a lot of customers from all over the world as well. Unforgettable is the installation of a cleanroom production plant in ShenZhen China, and the installations of outdoor weathering test equipment in Kalahari and Richards Bay, South Africa.

It is always a pleasure to meet (prospective) customers and to create appropriate solutions for them. For this, know-how and creativity is required, because mostly each system is different and quite complex.

Due to my soon retirement, I’m busy to prepare my successor well for her future responsibilities. In July 2016 I will hand her over my work place and the related monitoring systems. I hope and I’m sure that she will build a good relationship with our customers.

In my spare time, I use to relax in the beautiful Allgaeu as often as possible. There, I enjoy bicycling, hiking and relaxing at the lake. Also, I have a lot of fun with my beloved grandchildren.

Finally it can be said, that dyed-in-the-wool sales persons like me really enjoy the personal customer contact. If you have a serious interest and a healthy couriosity towards your customers, nothing bars the way to find best solutions.
