Change is the only constant

2016 was a year of big changes for Lufft: A change in the ownership structure took place in January and in August I took the reins as the new Managing Director. After more than 100 days at the innovative measuring technology manufacturer with a long company history, I would like to share with you my experiences and impressions in the new position.

2016 was a year of big changes for Lufft: A change in the ownership structure took place in January and in August I took the reins as the new Managing Director. After more than 100 days at the innovative measuring technology manufacturer with a long company history, I would like to share with you my experiences and impressions in the new position.

What characterizes Lufft? A good mix!

My new team is characterized by high motivation, a good mix of experienced and young members and a strong identification with the Lufft brand. These strengths certainly contribute decisively to the excellent innovative power at Lufft.

Our sales network, which is well developed worldwide, is one of our great strengths: Lufft is successful globally thanks not only to our excellent sales team, but also to our many successful partners, who represent Lufft with great commitment. Last but not least, through our new affiliation with a globally active group, we succeeded in further expanding this strength in 2016, winning new global partners along the way.

What will 2017 bring?

For us, next year will be all about smart sensors. Our customers demand long-term stable, maintenance-free, high-precision sensors, which can be easily integrated into existing measuring networks.

With the WS3000 weather sensor we realized a sustainable product meeting all these expectations. Moreover, it completes our high-end product portfolio with which we are now able to cover all weather parameters with highest precision.

The mobile weather sensor MARWIS introduced in 2015 considerably simplifies many traffic monitoring tasks compared to classical system and will, in my opinion, play an increasingly important role.

Further intelligent products are planned in the coming years, which will make life easier for users. Our innovation pipeline is filled with really smart products that are sustainable, competitive and easy-to-use.

Our contribution to the energy revolution

Following the Paris Agreement, according to which almost all major carbon dioxide emitters such as the USA, China, India and the EU committed themselves to make a decisive contribution to climate protection, renewable energies are highly popular. Our versatile sensor technology for PV monitoring and wind turbine control must have a strong presence here: the digital wind and weather sensor family from Lufft comes with high precision as well as longevity and makes a significant contribution both for site assessment and monitoring.

Future inside

Sensor technology is increasingly important in more and more areas and by now can be found all around us. Open eyes for our environment and an open ear for our customers provide us with the necessary ideas for innovation. This enables us to keep our core segments stable, open up new markets with smart products and drive change.

The Lufft Team and I wish all our customers, partners, blog readers and friends of the Lufft brand a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year 2017. Warmest greetings and thanks also to your families, without whose support your commitment to us would not be possible.

We look forward to further enhancing our cooperation next year and continuing to write our common success story.
