But there is an industry guideline for solar monitoring in Photovoltaics you can refer to: IEC 61724-1 &#8211; Photovoltaic system performance &#8211; Part 1: Monitoring.<\/p><p>It outlines equipment, methods, and terminology for performance monitoring and analysis of photovoltaic (PV) systems. It addresses sensors, installation, and accuracy for monitoring equipment in addition to measured parameter data acquisition and quality checks, calculated parameters, and performance metrics.\u00a0IEC 61724-1 was launched in March 2017 and has some comparisons with the<a href=\"https:\/\/www.kippzonen.com\/News\/849\/New-ISO-9060-standard-planned-for-September-2018-what-will-change#.X_dxQPlKiUl\">\u00a0new ISO 9060:2018<\/a>\u00a0standard that is planned to be launched this year. \u00a0Both standards define Class A, B and C but with a different meaning<\/p><p>The current business practice for leading industrial customers is, to have a pyranometer (such as CMP\/SMP 10 or 11) that is Secondary Standard as defined by ISO 9060:1990.<\/p><h3>Class A means great care for the maintenance of your pyranometers<\/h3><p>A survey showed that the main reason for most companies not to aim for a Class A status for IEC, is the cost-benefit analysis they made. It is too costly to obtain a Class A status:<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-inner-section elementor-element elementor-element-1600c24 elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"1600c24\" data-element_type=\"section\" data-e-type=\"section\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-50 elementor-inner-column elementor-element elementor-element-b55fc34\" data-id=\"b55fc34\" data-element_type=\"column\" data-e-type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-a207813 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"a207813\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<ul><li>The classes A, B and C are\u00a0site\u00a0requirements;\u00a0all\u00a0individual onsite measurement instruments have to be Class A, in order to obtain a Class A status of the site. To achieve this, dew, frost, soiling and instrument deposition as such should be prevented, and customers have to do good product maintenance.
