{"id":1296,"date":"2015-05-21T18:44:29","date_gmt":"2015-05-21T18:44:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ott.com\/blog\/?p=134"},"modified":"2021-01-10T15:20:18","modified_gmt":"2021-01-10T14:20:18","slug":"real-time-groundwater-monitoring-around-natural-gas-drill-sites-in-colorado","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.otthydromet.com\/en\/real-time-groundwater-monitoring-around-natural-gas-drill-sites-in-colorado\/","title":{"rendered":"Real-time Groundwater Monitoring Around Natural Gas Drill Sites in Colorado"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/cewc.colostate.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Center for Energy Water Sustainability (CEWS)<\/a> at Colorado State University, in partnership with <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nobleenergyinc.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Noble Energy,<\/a> has developed a real-time groundwater monitoring system in the Denver-Julesburg basin of Colorado called the <a href=\"http:\/\/waterwatch.colostate.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Colorado Water Watch (CWW).<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Colorado Water Watch is a state and privately funded program brought together by a team of engineers and scientists from the Center of Energy Water Sustainability, making it a neutral third party to measure the impact of natural gas drilling on the surrounding groundwater supplies.<\/p>\n<p><iframe title=\"Colorado State University System Monitors Water Quality at Oil and Gas Sites in Real Time\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/uY1cMSf9Wig?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The goal of the\u00a0project is to gather <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ott.com\/en-us\/applications\/groundwater\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">groundwater monitoring<\/a> data in real time, and analyze and report it in real or near-real time, depending on whether the data requires further evaluation.
