This year OTT HydroMet successfully launched the following new products:<\/p>\n

The OTT ecoLog 1000 water level logger with 4G mobile communication launched in August
<\/strong><\/h3>\n

We present: the brand new OTT ecoLog 1000 water level logger<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The OTT ecoLog 1000 is a self-contained, cellular groundwater level logger for measuring water level and temperature using a ceramic pressure cell. It makes your measuring network future-proof through 4G (LTE)\/ 2G mobile communication and provides reliable system up-time as well as accurate measurements while avoiding data gaps. The mobile communication unit allows remote configuration and monitoring to avoid costly trips to your measurement site. The data is transferred encrypted with automatic retries if transmission fails.<\/p>\n

The new water level logger supports mobile devices, smart phones, and tablets operating with Android, iOS or Windows 10 and can be managed using the responsive LinkComm App<\/a>. Also, the cable length can be adjusted comfortably on-site. As the successor of the well-established OTT ecoLog 500<\/a> it will replace it completely in 2020.<\/p>\n

The ISE sensors for the HYDROLAB series of water quality sondes launched in October
<\/strong><\/h3>\n
\"\"<\/p>\n

The newly introduced ISE sensors for HL7 and HL4 water quality sondes<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

ISE stands for \u201cion-selective electrode\u201d and describes a sensor that converts the activity of a certain ion dissolved in water into an electrical potential. The newly introduced ISE sensors for ammonium, nitrate and chloride from HYDROLAB are robust and work in water depths of up to 15 meters.<\/p>\n

They are especially suitable for spot measurements where the sensors are calibrated prior to the measurement campaign. Frequent quality checks and re-calibrations are required for longer periods of use. The HYDROLAB probes HL4 and HL7 support the user with a sophisticated maintenance and information concept. When connected to the operating software, the probe uses status displays to indicate whether calibration of the respective sensors is necessary. Calibrations can be carried out quickly and easily using guided calibration routines.<\/p>\n

The HydroMet View monitoring software for the German speaking market so far launched in November

The HydroMet View software<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The new HydroMet View<\/a> is a elaborated software for data management, visualization and alarming tasks. It was developed with the help of our partner Kisters \u2013 a renowned engineering company and experienced software developer founded in 1963.<\/p>\n

HydroMet View is browser-based and therefore accessible from anywhere \u2013 even via smartphone or tablet. The software enables access to critical water level, discharge or precipitation data for flood or heavy rain events as well as current webcam images. The collected data is stored in Germany in accordance with EU regulations. In addition, the HydroMet View guarantees you reliable service availability, even in the event of high access rates e.g. in the event of an alarm.<\/p>\n

The HydroMet View software is particularly suitable for the new OTT ecoLog 1000 water level logger, non-contact radar level sensors, rain gauges and more. It is therefore ideal for flood warning systems, which are playing an increasingly important role due to the growing number of devastating flood events such as in Venice, France or Kenya.<\/p>\n

So far the new monitoring software was launched in German-speaking countries but will be rolled out to further countries or languages in 2020.<\/p>\n

OTT Water Level Logger Used in Small Irrigation Channels in Valencia, Spain<\/h3>\n

The irrigation sector in the Valencia area was forced to start measuring the levels in their channels. For this a simple system was required and a very discrete installation needed due to high chances of vandalism and low budgets available from the customer. The OTT HydroMet solution complied with their needs.<\/p>\n

Monitoring ditch water quality using OTT ecoN, Hydrolab HL4 and XLink 500<\/h3>\n

The RIVM in the Netherlands is using the OTT ecoN and the Hydrolab HL4, connected to an XLink 500 datalogger, to monitor the temporal variation of nutrients in ditch water. The data is sent to Hydromet Cloud.<\/p>\n

65 new OTT ecoLog 500 stations in Denmark for a crop cutting research project<\/h3>\n

The associated sets of water level and water flow data, together with detailed records of the physical conditions, can form the basis for calculating the specific effects of the crop cutting on the water level and the manning number (expressing the resistance to the water\u2019s free flow in the watercourse) and the temporal variation thereof. Data can also form the basis for an analysis of how any changes in shape affect both the manning number and the water flow capacity.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

New network of weather stations in Sheffield<\/h3>\n

OTT HydroMet is installing fifteen automatic weather stations as part of the University of Sheffield\u2019s Urban Flows Observatory, which is led by the Departments of Civil and Structural Engineering, and Automatic Control and Systems Engineering (ACSE). The monitoring sites are conveniently located at Sheffield schools, and data from the stations will contribute to the project\u2019s wider environmental monitoring objectives which include the free publication of data.<\/p>\n
