Since OTT HydroMet debuted its next generation surface and groundwater level logger in 2019, the OTT ecoLog 1000<\/a> continues to be a reliable option for monitoring water level and temperature. It brings benefits in saving time, cost, maintenance, and ease in application installations.<\/p>

Driven in large part by the migration to \u2018set it and forget it\u2019 systems and the ability to collect and transmit data quickly enough to be actionable, the OTT ecoLog 1000 has advanced technological capabilities which allow organizations to make their monitoring systems and emergency strategy plans more efficient.<\/p>

Cristina Windsor, Business Development Manager for Groundwater at OTT HydroMet, has been a close partner on the ecoLog 1000 journey, working with local government agencies to provide solutions to challenging natural resource issues for water management, mining, and energy sectors.<\/p>

What are some examples of applications where organizations are using the OTT ecoLog 1000?<\/strong><\/p>

Organizations are primarily using the new logger for agricultural and municipal groundwater management, stormwater runoff, state-level groundwater regulation, and remediation.<\/p>

Groundwater Conservation Districts in Texas use the ecoLog 1000 to easily expand their well network and to better inform decisions on water management and aquifer drawdown to help farmers sustain healthy water levels. The ecoLog 1000 is easy to install<\/a> and use, provides remote data access and accurate, reliable data for both regulators and farmers.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Why should organizations adopt the new logger into their monitoring plans?<\/strong><\/p>

The ecoLog 1000 has revolutionized groundwater networks by enabling high quality, low cost remote level and temperature measurement with a cellular and Bluetooth connection. For their monitoring plans this is a huge advantage because the ecoLog 1000 is so cost effective that it allows for remote access when that has been cost prohibitive in the past.\u00a0 For the same reason, it also allows agencies to increase the number of monitoring points to include those that are hard to access and weren\u2019t within the budget constraints.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

How is the OTT ecoLog 1000 different (and better) from prior generations?<\/strong><\/p>

The latest version first and foremost utilizes a robust cellular communication network, it also allows for drive up connectivity via Bluetooth.\u00a0 On the measurement side, the ecoLog 1000 uses an accurate vented sensor as well as internal humidity sensors to ensure that the system is operating at its best. These two features alone help technicians in the field (or in the office) connect through mobile phones and provide simplified access and a drive up download option when weather is bad.<\/p>

In short, the new ecoLog can quickly connect data and technicians can make management decisions from anywhere, check to make sure equipment is working as expected which eliminates costly field visits when they aren\u2019t required and prevents data loss when equipment has been tampered with.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
