Why do we have this feeling? The indices speak for themselves&#8230;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><span id=\"result_box\" class=\"\" lang=\"en\" tabindex=\"-1\">Lithuania is divided into 10 regions (districts): Alytus, Kaunas, Klaip\u0117da, Marijampol\u0117, Panev\u0117\u017eys, \u0160iauliai, Taurag\u0117, Tel\u0161iai, Utena and Vilnius.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>All of these should be equipped with our latest mobile road sensor technology to support winter services and make their jobs more environmentally friendly. A region is already taking part: From beginning 2016 on, Utena has installed two <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lufft-marwis.de\/en_US\/features\" target=\"_blank\">MARWIS<\/a> devices in order to test them thoroughly.<\/p>\n<p>The central road management of Lithuania commissioned our partner <a href=\"http:\/\/lufft.com\/en\/contact\/partners\/\" target=\"_blank\">AVIGA<\/a> to integrate the MARWIS data into their existing software. The measured data of the sensors in use are made available on the district administration website. <span id=\"result_box\" class=\"\" lang=\"en\" tabindex=\"-1\"><span class=\"\">The software, which initially issued the MARWIS values road condition and friction only, is now supplemented by the rest of the sensor values.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span id=\"result_box\" class=\"\" lang=\"en\" tabindex=\"-1\"><span class=\"\">In November 2016, I traveled to Utena to help our local partner AVIGA to hold a MARWIS seminar.<\/span> <span class=\"\">The aim was to give potential MARWIS users (engineers, winter service employees) of the directorates from all districts of the country an understanding of the new technology.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><span id=\"result_box\" class=\"\" lang=\"en\" tabindex=\"-1\"><span title=\"Wir nutzten den Tag f\u00fcr eine theoretische Einf\u00fchrung und praktische Workshops.\">We used the day for a theoretical introduction and practical workshops. For the latter, w<\/span><span title=\"Hierbei luden wir alle Seminarbesucher auf eine Tour in einem Klein-LKW ein, auf der wir die MARWIS-Daten live auf einem Tablet vorf\u00fchrten.\">e invited all seminar participants to join a tour in a small truck, where we presented the MARWIS data live on a tablet. <\/span><span title=\"Ein weiterer wichtiger Teil des Trainings war eine Webkonferenz mit einem unserer Entwickler, der f\u00fcr technische Fragen zur Verf\u00fcgung stand. \">Another important part of the training was a web conference with one of our developers, who was available for <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lufft-marwis.de\/en_US\/faq\" target=\"_blank\">technical questions<\/a>.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span title=\"Nach all dieser guten gemeinsamen Vorarbeit und der umfangreichen sowie lehrreichen Testperiode bekamen wir nun gr\u00fcnes Licht in zuk\u00fcnftigen \u00f6ffentlichen Ausschreibungen in Litauen mit ins Rennen zu gehen. \">After all this good joint preparation and the extensive and instructive test period, we were now given the green light for taking part in future public tenders in Lithuania.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span title=\"Aus diesem Anlass m\u00f6chte ich mich herzlich bei allen Beteiligten bedanken Dankesch\u00f6n an alle, die das m\u00f6glich gemacht haben \u2013 auf einen erfolgreiches MARWIS-Roll-Out in Litauen!\">On this occasion, I would like to thank all those involved for their support.
