Just in time for the Meteorological Technology World Expo in Brussels, we report about the development projects at Lufft: New weather sensors, new optical sensors – you can expect these new products within the next months.<\/p>\n

With the soon coming WS510 and WS700-UMB, the Lufft weather sensor family, will be extended by two versions, which will make meteorologist happy:<\/p>\n

The WS510-UMB is equipped with the CMP10<\/a> pyranometer from Kipp&Zonen<\/a> and offers highest precision of Secondary Standard as well as a long lasting life cycle of ten years. Especially for photovoltaics applications this will be a suitable device. Besides the global radiation, it also measures air temperature, relative humidity, air pressure, and wind speed as well as wind direction.<\/p>\n

A further new product is the WS700-UMB \u2013 a true all-rounder. On request of several customers, the developers from Lufft managed to combine the silicon global radiation sensor from Lufft and a precipitation sensor in one housing. Through this, all necessary measurements can be done by one device only. Besides those two mentioned values, it measures air pressure, temperature, relative humidity, wind direction and wind velocity.<\/p>\n

What labels all of our weather sensors is the open UMB protocol, open interfaces, such as the RS485, as well as the best components of different standards. With these characteristics, Lufft offers optimal solutions for different needs. Furthermore, this is why our sensors support ASCII, SDI-12 and MODBUS next to the UMB protocol. In the business field Optical Sensors also something is happening: This week, the new snow height sensor SHM50 will be presented. It is equipped with a new multipoint laser technology, which consists of three separate modules measuring three different spots and also able to prevent data loss in case of a module failure. Furthermore it can be integrated easier into an existing measurement network. We also reported about this new sensor in the August issue of MTI International.<\/a><\/p>\n

We often get inspired by our customers and never stop developing new products with their help , because they always know best, what they need. On the Meteorological Technology World Expo in Brussels <\/a>from 21st<\/sup> of October until 23rd<\/sup> of October 2014, we will show first prototypes.
