An extremely volatile diversity prevails here: from the highly industrialised centre to a population living in very poor conditions, there are a wide variety of lifestyles here. In the major cities especially, many people live in poverty. But the carnival in Rio de Janeiro shows that in spite of all circumstances, they still have a great love for life. Brazil has beautiful and diverse flora and fauna. The rain forests in the Amazon region have countless natural treasures. The climate in Brazil is mainly tropical with very little deviation in temperatures. There are very dry areas of land in the north-east of the country, but also relatively damp areas around the Amazon.<\/p>\n<p>The football World Cup will be held in this impressive country next year. From June 12 to July 13 2014, the whole world will be looking at this country in South America. For the 20th time, the most important tournament for national football teams will be taking place. More than 3.3 million tickets to the World Cup will be on sale. The final rehearsal for the World Cup has already taken place at the FIFA Confederations Cup in June 2013.<\/p>\n<p>The weather will of course play a fundamental role at the football matches. Especially when it comes to important tournaments such as those at the WC 2014. It is possible that temperatures will be over 30 degrees at the 12 locations for World cup matches. Humidity can also be extremely high. This is why accurate readings of the weather conditions on location will be extremely important. Lufft will be responsible for weather information with our weather sensors at the FIFA World Cup 2014. The weather data will be measured directly in the football stadiums, and distributed throughout the country. These weather measurements have already been undertaken at the Confederations Cup in June 2013. The project came about via a traditional tender. Lufft decided on this jointly with Brazilian distribution partner RoMiotto. By the WC 2014, all stadiums which do not yet have them will be equipped with our weather sensors.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Pictures from the Confederations Cup 2013 &#8211; Game for 3rd place &#8211; Italy vs. Uruguay &#8211; Fonte Nova Stadium Salvador:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The compact weather station\u00a0<a title=\"Product Page - WS301 all-in-one weather station - AWS\" href=\"https:\/\/www.lufft.com\/products\/compact-weather-sensors-293\/ws301-umb-smart-weather-sensor-1849\/\" target=\"_blank\">WS301-UMB<\/a> is a part of this mobile collection of climate data during the football matches. This all-in-one station can record numerous weather data simultaneously. It calculates measurement values such as relative moisture, temperature, air pressure, and global radiation. It is possible to determine the amount of precipitation via an external sensor. The station can also assist with early warnings prior to untypical weather conditions \u2013 before or during a game. Due to the low power technology of the WS301-UMB, the station can be operated by mobile via a solar panel and thus does not need any external power. The data logger from Campbell Scientific, the measurement company, assesses the recorded data.<\/p>\n\n<p>Additional projects have already been confirmed in addition to the World Cup 2014. Lufft will supply six additional weather stations for the Olympic Games 2016 in Rio de Janeiro. The compact weather station <a title=\"Product Page - WS301 all-in-one weather station - AWS\" href=\"https:\/\/www.lufft.com\/products\/compact-weather-sensors-293\/ws301-umb-smart-weather-sensor-1849\/\" target=\"_blank\">WS301-UMB<\/a> will also be used for this as well as modified by an anemometer for wind measurements.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Lufft will be responsible for weather information with our weather sensors at the FIFA World Cup 2014.
