Then we\u2019d like to challenge you to take part in our search for \u201cPassionate Weather Experts\u201d.<\/p>\n

Whether you\u2019re in school, at university, or a teacher, show us your enthusiasm for dramatic weather phenomena. In addition to the \u201c2012 Lufft Weather Expert\u201d title, the winner will also receive a professional compact weather station, including installation and personal training \u2013 a packaged valued at more then \u20ac 3,000.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Applying is as easy as:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Apply by sharing a great photo of some great weather observed during your last trip, a homemade weather video, or a poem about the never-ending rains of summer. The form doesn\u2019t matter\u2014it\u2019s the idea that counts. The weather station being offered as the main prize is part of the successful LUFFT WS family of products. The intelligent data collector with a digital interface for environmental applications has been a best selling device for years in the field of environmental data collection. The data station consists of the WS501-UMB compact weather station as well as the WTB100 precipitation sensor. The complex weather station can be used to create regional and local weather forecasts or to conduct weather-related experiments.<\/p>\n

The station measures air temperature, relative humidity, electromagnetic radiation, air pressure, and the wind direction and speed. The relative humidity is calculated with a sensor while the air temperature is measured with a precise NTC thermometer. Wind data is collected with modern ultrasonic sensors. The environmental data is analyzed once a minute. The data measured by the station can then be published on one\u2019s homepage and updated on a continuous basis or transferred to a weather center.<\/p>\n
