In the recent company history Lufft can look back at a lot of exciting collaborations. Our products have been established in the whole world. Even under extreme weather and environmental conditions our customers can trust in reliable readings from our Lufft measuring instruments. This is an ordeal our company passes with flying colors, how the following practical examples will show you.

Pressure, temperature, moisture, precipitation – the requested results differ depending on the business area our Lufft products are part of: It doesn’t matter if it’s about arctic temperatures or dry heat.  A special story of success is about our Ventus-UMB ultrasonic anemometer in Canada. On top of Whistler Mountain, the wind speed measuring instrument was confronted with heavy icestorms. While all the other mechanical products were completely covered with snow and ice, Ventus-UMB stayed ice- and snow-free and was able to keep on measuring. In Russia, our instruments also have to deal with ice and cold. Up to -40°C of continuous low are the reason why the federal weather service trusts in the reliability of our compact weather station WS600-UMB. This device measures parameters such as temperature, humidity, precipitation and wind speed.

Besides Canada our Ventus-UMB is also active in Mexico, where it is dealing with warmer temperatures. In the southwestern area of the country 30 weather stations have been installed by Mexican weather service. Because of their robust construction, they deliver solid data concerning wind speed.

To find examples for measuring under extreme conditions, you don’t have to travel around the globe. Even in the strong winters in central Europe, Lufft devices are needed. Our intelligent road sensors collect reliable measurement data even when the weather is cold. They measure for example the temperature and the salinity of the road and are important to recognize a high danger of ice. Our intelligent road sensor IRS31-UMB is an example for a device like that.

You can find a lot of heat in the SPAs on this planet: Regular sauna visitors know about the necessity of measuring instruments for climate, temperature and humidity. For that reason Lufft developed special thermometers, hygrometers and climate measuring instruments, which are able to deal with the conditions in saunas because of their scaling and their resilience.

Since more than 130 years Lufft stands for solid meteorological measuring devices. The exactness of our products – even under extreme environmental influences – is an important characteristic for us. The very different climatic phenomena in this world and the characteristics of new production processes lead to a lot of new requirements for our measuring technology. For that reason, innovation and development are the most important aspirations for modern and substained companies such as Lufft.
