For a while now the company Fischer has been producing our classic mechanical measurement instruments already. Last year, we outsourced the whole production and sale process to Fischer, in order to completely focus on the new products. Recently one of the reproduced measurement instruments was honored with a special prize…
The Lufft weather pillar can now call itself „manufactured product of the year 2015“. The design of the combined hygro-, thermo- and barometer convinced the jury of the German Manufacture Association, which is a society with its headquarters in the city of Bremen. The instrument is a reproduction of a historic Lufft weather station, which has been made by Fischer in Drebach for several years already. Lufft completely has focused on the new digital measurement devices and therefore licensed “K. Fischer Feingerätebau GmbH” (meaning “K. Fischer fine tool engineering GmbH”) to take over the whole sales and logistic processes in 2014 in addition to the production they had been in charge of already.
The manufactory award was created two years ago, making the Lufft weather pillar the second awarded product at all. The prize goes to products as well as producers of consumer goods and the food industry, with the aim to call attention to dying out manufactures in Germany, of which 500 ones are left roughly. It is very special, that the weather pillar is handmade per order – as individual product. Such manufactured pieces can be found on specialized web shops like Manufactum delivering to Middle Europe and Great Britain.
After the determination of the winner through a secret voting in written form over a nominee short list, the award ceremony took place in the Directors’ House in Berlin on April the 23rd. This happened as a part of the seventh future forum dedicated to German Manufactures. The prize was handed over to Fischer’s head of sales Peter Fischer.
