Die Rennstrecke f\u00fchrt \u00fcber rund 3.000 Kilometer auf \u00f6ffentlichen Stra\u00dfen quer durch Australien. Seit 1987 messen sich Teams aus der ganzen Welt. Die meisten kommen von Universit\u00e4ten oder aus der Automobilindustrie. Wichtigstes Ziel des Wettbewerbes ist die F\u00f6rderung und publikumswirksame Pr\u00e4sentation der Forschung und Entwicklung im Bereich von Solarfahrzeugen. Gestartet wird in verschiedenen Kategorien, wobei die Fahrzeuge Auflagen betreffend Solarpanelgr\u00f6\u00dfe, Minimalmasse, Batteriekapazit\u00e4t, Stra\u00dfentauglichkeit, etc. erf\u00fcllen m\u00fcssen. Das Rennen findet alle 2 Jahre statt und ist derzeit in vollem Gange.<\/p>\n\n<p>Es muss nicht erw\u00e4hnt werden, dass das Wetter w\u00e4hrend eines Rennens mit Solarfahrzeugen mit entscheidend ist. Obwohl die Autos von Sonnenschein versorgt werden, spielen auch andere Umweltbedingungen eine wichtige Rolle. Es m\u00fcssen zus\u00e4tzlich zur Solarstrahlung weitere Messungen durchgef\u00fchrt werden, um beispielsweise die Feuchtigkeit, Lufttemperatur, Luftdichte, Windgeschwindigkeit und Windrichtung zu messen. Diese Parameter sind wichtig f\u00fcr die Wahl der Strategie im Rennen.<\/p>\n\n<p>Lufft unterst\u00fctzt das Punch Powertrain Solar Team, welches aus 17 Technik-Studenten der belgischen Universit\u00e4t KU Leuven besteht. Um sicherzustellen, dass das Team zu jeder Zeit alle wichtigen Wetter-Informationen erh\u00e4lt, haben wir drei <a title=\"Produktwebsite - Lufft WS501-UMB Wetterstation\" href=\"https:\/\/www.lufft.com\/de-de\/produkte\/intelligente-wettersensoren-309\/ws501-umb-intelligente-wettersensorik-2262\/\" target=\"_blank\">WS501-UMB Wettersensoren<\/a> nach Australien mitgeschickt, die derzeit im Rennen eingesetzt werden.
